A warning from the Elliot Lake Bear Advisory Council:
A warning from the Elliot Lake Bear Advisory Council:
• The Elliot Lake Department of the Environment is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears, while in the area.
• You are advised to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on your clothing,to alert, but not startle,a bear unexpectedly.
• You are recommended to carry a pepper-spray in case you encounter a bear.
• It's also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity, and importantly,to recognise the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings.
• Black bear droppings are smaller, and contain berries, and possibly squirrel fur.
Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them, and smell of pepper spray....

I didn’t know bears liked lerts. It’s a shame as I threw a bag of old lerts away and in this global warming winter wonderland they’ll need the extra nurishment.
Another good way to tell a black bear from a grizzly:
Climb a tree. If the bear climbs it and eats you, it’s a black bear.
If the bear knocks the tree down and eats you, it’s a grizzly.
Oh why can’t we have Sundays show 7 days a week…… I miss trying to avoid the car in front when roaring over a Janet & John – Dartford Tunnel just ain’t the same now – no avoiding action moves!!!

Why do mice have small balls?
Because not very many of them can dance!
